Home Remedies for Bad Breath -Halitosis

Halitosis is the technical name given to bad breath. Halitosis affects slightly more than half the population, and though it can be embarrassing, it can also be an indicator of a larger problem. There is no substitute for routine and regular dental care, but there are several home remedies that are effective against halitosis.

Mixing baking soda with warm water and using it to clean your mouth and teeth is another home remedy recommended for halitosis. This is because baking soda changes the pH in the mouth and makes it difficult for bacteria to multiply.

Parsley is another good home remedy for halitosis. Two cups of water is taken and boiled with several sprigs of parsley, coarsely chopped, should be steeped in this water. Add two to three whole cloves or you can also go for one tsp of powdered cloves. This mixture is to be stirred occasionally while cooling. After that, it is to be strained and used as mouthwash. You can also gargle the same several times a day.

Certain Ayurvedic therapies like ‘Kavala’ and ‘Gandusha’ are good for halitosis. In fact these therapies are one of the best home remedies for halitosis. These therapies are performed by keeping medicated herbal decoction or any liquid material into the mouth. You should either gargle or retain the solution for couple of minutes. Practicing regularly takes off the bad breath.

Fenugreek must be the most effective herbal remedy for bad breath. If you can buy a tea made with fenugreek leaves from an herbal shop, and that would be sufficient. Just drink the tea about two to three times a day for maximum efficiency. In time, your bad breath will just be a bad memory. If you can’t find fenugreek tea, you can prepare some yourself by boiling a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in water. Simmer for fifteen minutes. Cool and strain.

Add 2 to 3 drops of oil of oregano in the drinking water. this would help solve the problem of halitosis. Choose a mouth wash which contains eucalyptol and thymol. Derived from eucalyptus and thyme respectively, these proved worthwhile in destroying bad breath. Chewing mint leaves is also beneficial in curing a person who is suffering from bad breath or halitosis..


Home Remedies for Gout

Gout is a form of arthritis that causes intense joint pain, often affecting the large joint of the big toe. Gout can also occur in the hands, wrists, knees, ankles and feet. The affected joints become red, inflamed and very tender. The symptoms occur suddenly and often at night.

Raw vegetable juices are used for gout treatment. Carrot juice, in combination with the juices of beet and cucumber, is especially valuable. Beet juice - 100 ml and cucumber juice - 100 ml should be mixed with 300 ml of carrot juice to make 500 ml of combined juice and taken daily

 

Consume 3-4 bananas every day. Since bananas are rich in minerals like phosphorus, it would react with the uric deposits thus eliminating them.

 


Lime is also used as a source in treating gout. Vitamin C is known to prevent and cure sore joints by strengthening the connective tissues of the body. The citric acid found in lime is a solvent of the uric acid which is the primary cause of this disease. The juice of half a lime, squeezed into a glass of water, should be taken twice daily.

 

For people who suffer from gout in their toes, fill the bathtub with water and add one-third cup of ground ginger in it. Soak the affected area for about 30 minutes, after which, rinse thoroughly.

 

Certain herbs are known to be helpful to people suffering from the ailment and can function as herbal home remedies for gout. Devil’s claw root, gingerroot, meadowsweet leaves and flowertops, and white willow bark can fight inflammation in the joints, as well as help relieve the pain caused by gout. Boswellia (frankincense), capsicum (cayenne), feverfew, and licorice may also help reduce discomfort and cleanse toxins from the joints.
