Home Remedies for Sunburn

Let us learn some natural remedies or kitchen remedies for sunburn.

Home Remedies for Sunburn #1: Take precaution so that your sun does not get exposed to the sun.

Home Remedies for Sunburn #2:   You can avoid going out between hours where the sun is at its peak. 10:00 am and 3:00 pm are the hours when the UV rays are more intense.

Home Remedies for Sunburn #3:    If you got to go out during those hours, wear a hat, goggles that protect the eyes from Ultra Violate rays, and clothes made of light colored, light weight, tightly woven cotton.

Home Remedies for Sunburn #4:   You can also wear sunscreen that has sun protection factor ( SPF ) of 15 or higher. Application is made on the skin  whenever you plan going out or ride, also applying it to all exposed areas before getting under the sun, repeating the procedure as much as possible, especially if you swim or perspire is preferred. However, you got to be sure that you purchase sunscreen that protect against both UVA and UVB rays.


Home Remedies for Sunburn #5:     Take plenty of fluids that prevent dehydration.

Home Remedies for Sunburn #6: In diet, eat lots of lean, and good quality protein foods. In addition, take raw fruits that supply the vitamins and minerals required by the body.

Home Remedies for Sunburn #7: To heal a sunburn pain, an application is made over the affected areas using cool water compresses. Also, filling a bathtub with cold water with one pound of baking soda or oatmeal dissolved in may work too. Soak the affected areas in the bath for half an hour approximately.

Before learning home skin remedies, one should be aware of certain facts. Do you know the fact that skin is the largest organ of the body? If yes, you may be unaware of the fact that this is the organ that keeps you healthy!!! Before starting home skin remedies, let me explain –the skin is the one that excretes the body wastage and serves as potential drainage system for biological waste. Through perspiration, we get rid of innumerable amounts of toxins that leave body a disease free zone.

Just imagine that your drainage system is chocked up even for a day! Unfortunately, most of the people do not have a clear track of the drainage system called skin! The pores on the skin are clogged in every other person inviting a lot of health ailments including pimple or acne, eczema, psoriasis, blemishes, blackheads, whiteheads, etc.

That is why, one should be very careful about the skin. Daily cleansing (bathing) is just not sufficient to keep the skin healthy. Following some home skin remedies on regular basis may help keeping the skin in its best possible health.


Let us now look at some potential home skin remedies:

Home Skin Remedies #1: Mix well -oatmeal and egg white. Simply place this on the face that serves as a mask. Let it remain until it dries. Rinse the face using plain fresh water (can also use lukewarm) to take off the mixture. Use icy water in the last to finish rinsing.

Home Skin Remedies #2: You can also go for mashed papaya or pineapple juice application on the face. This softens the skin and gets you rid of any dark patches.

Home Skin Remedies #3: For cleansing the pores on the face, prepare a home facial mask. For this, mash a banana and add a tbsp of honey. Mix a little bit of orange juice and prepare the mask. Use this solution that helps cleansing and clearing off the pores. For better result, keep this on the skin for about 15 minutes, then wash off with fresh plain water.

Home Skin Remedies #4: One of the best home skin remedies is mixing approximately 3-5 drops of lemon juice and a beaten egg-white. You can use this on the face and upper neck. Let it remain till it gets dried. Once dried, reapply the mixture. Wash with lukewarm water after 20 minutes.

Home Skin Remedies #5: Beat one raw egg white, add a tsp of lemon juice, grated lemon peel and a couple of tsp of oats. Mix altogether and apply to the skin. Keep it for 20 minutes and then remove it with a wet cloth. Rinse the skin with icy water.

Home Skin Remedies #6: An application of Aloe pulp mixed with turmeric powder cleanses the pores and helps in keeping the skin health.
